Breakfast served
with a cacophony of rooster
and a soothing dove
counterpoint.

Almost quitting time ~
from the office nextdoor
the sound of laughter.

Sunday morning ~
the dappled sunlight
seems holier.

Flood watch warning ~
we have yet to see
a drop of rain.

All day long
sitting
on the edge
of tears.

September ending ~
the storm cloud
cradles
a bit of rainbow.

On the road
so many songs
I sing half
of each one.

Doves decorate
the mahogany tree
awaiting breakfast.

Waiting for the plumber
I drape the hedge
in cotton finery.

Evening walk
the air has a hint
of Christmas.
